Graduation

Caroline graduated from preschool a couple of weeks ago.  I guess I am a pretty laid back mom.  I just take things as they come and sometimes the milestones sneak up on me.  We got spring pictures back from the preschool and all of a sudden I see a picture of Caroline in a cap and gown.  I was not expecting to see that and it shocked me how grown up she looked in that little get up.  It's like I could see her 18 graduating from high school!

While I was surprised about this, Caroline was prepared.  Her teachers did a wonderful job talking to her about kindergarten.  She is ready to go!  Before kindergarten she had to go through her preschool graduation.  It was precious!

They each walked across the stage and got their diploma.

Afterwards, they sang several songs.  The last song talked about saying goodbye to the yellow school!  We are so excited for her and all the new adventures she will have in the fall!

Ballet Recital

Caroline has been taking ballet lessons at church all year.  I was so surprised when we got Caroline signed up for preschool this year because they offer all sorts of activities immediately following the school day.  The teachers would feed them lunch and then get them changed into their ballet leotard every week.  I signed her up immediately and checked one more thing off my to do list!  She really enjoyed her time in class this year and would often dance around the house.

She was so excited to wear her costume, get her hair done and wear make up for the recital.  I also enjoyed being mama and helping her get ready.  ;-)

Beautiful girl!

She was showing Gigi and Grandude part of the show before we went.

The recital was adorable and so cool.  Each dance highlighted a different mission of the church.  Her dance was in honor of Habitat for Humanity and the song was about blessing the home.  I have been so appreciative of the solid foundation that she has received in her preschool years.

She was so excited about her flowers and medal that she received after performing!

A special thank you to Gigi and Granddude who made a special trip to Marietta just to see Caroline's recital!!  They drove up Saturday afternoon after having a garage sale at their house, just to see her perform.  All of these pictures are due to Grandude's help too!  Thank you!!!!

Swimming

We're back to being fish again this summer!  Caroline LOVES to swim!  Libby is enjoying it but still not as much fun

All last summer we tried to get Caroline to jump off the diving board.  She kept saying she would next summer.  The first couple of days of this summer she said she would jump off when she turned 5.  I decided a bribe was in order.  :-)  We offered her an ice cream sundae if she jumped and that was all it took!

Their first ice cream sundaes!  They better not get to used to them - that was a lot of sugar!!

Libby just lucked into her ice cream sundae for being a sweet little sister.

Camping

There was a Father/Child campout at church tonight.  Mark ran out the door in such a hurry that he left a few items at home.  I had to run down and drop them off.  At least I was able to snag a few pictures while I was there.  :-)

The girls were so excited about going!  Caroline has been asking to camp for a year and a half!!  I have no idea how she even knows what camping is all about!  I just know that I'm going to get some monsters home tomorrow after the late bed time and the early rise!  It will be worth it to hear them talk about the fun though!  I'm so glad they get to have this time with Mark!!

Crazy Sisters

A couple of weeks ago i was not feeling great so I was resting in bed.  The girls came in and did a lot of dancing and twirling to help me feel better.  There was a good bit of hugging and hand holding between them and I think that made me feel better than anything else!

The other day they came into my room after naps and Libby's hair looked like this....

while Caroline came in with the most perfect ringlets I have ever seen on her!

They love each other and do such a great job playing together!

Easter

I can't really remember what we did to celebrate Easter this year.  I do have a few pictures though!

The girls with their baskets and shirts made by Sew Divine or Gigi!

After the Easter egg hunt at school, Caroline told Mark that she wanted to share her Easter eggs.  She asked Mark to take her on a walk in the neighborhood.  She hopped on her bike and proceeded to throw all her Easter eggs into the neighbors driveways!  I have no idea where she got that idea but it was precious to see her sharing!

She has a good arm too!

When she got home from the bike ride she decided to write Happy Easter to Miss Sharry and Mr. Mike, our neighbors.  I was pretty excited because she didn't have to ask how to spell it.  We sent a few cards to family and after practicing on those, she knew how to spell it.

Chattanooga

After our last foster placements went to another home, we decided to take a little trip to Chattanooga.  We love it up there and thought the girls would enjoy it too.

Our first stop was a ride in a duck (sp?) boat.  One of those buses that floats on the water.  The girls seemed to really enjoy it.  It was a memorable one time experience.

We did get a kick out of Libby on the boat.  The driver would ask questions and she would raise her hand to answer.  I didn't realize she "knew" how to do that.  We had her show us a little bit later how it was done. :-)

We stayed in a hotel on the river.  The girls and daddy had a great time checking out all the boats and barges that went by.

The girls all snuggled up in bed.  I didn't think we would ever get to sleep that night but we finally did!

The next morning we went to the children's museum.  We had a great time there!  Caroline did a great job experimenting with different things.

We had a picnic in a beautiful park on the river too.

Fun times!  The girls still talk about going to Chattanooga so I think we'll have to take another trip up there soon!

Soccer Season 2

Caroline enjoyed her second season of soccer!  She is getting more aggressive which was fun to see!  She also was able to play on the same team with Kelsey.  They had a great time running around together!

Her coach told her she should bend her knees and play the keyboard.  We all got a kick out of seeing them stand like this at goalie!

Libby Lou

Here are some recent pictures of Libby...

Her first big boo boo!  She fell in the driveway and skinned up her little face.

She fell asleep one day while reading from the hymnal!

She loves her big sister!

Libby and her preschool friend, Lola!

Libby is quite the little talker and dreamer these days.  She loves to read to us and tell us all kinds of stories.  We were getting a little anxious thinking we might need to get her to see a speech therapist.  However, her little voice has come to life in the past two months.  One of her favorite things to do is to make up names for us all.  She started calling Gigi, "cupcake" and she likes to call all of us, "socks."  Sometimes she will add in Lola or Anna and Elsa from Frozen.  It's adorable to hear here little voice say, "Come here socks" and realize that she is talking to you!  I'm pretty sure my name is mom but if you want to call me socks that could work too.  ;-)

She is a precious, funny and passionate girl!  We love her dearly!
